Cowes — 4 nights

Resting on the northern coast of Philip Island, Cowes is sandwiched between a coast and a forest.
Family-friendly places like Koala Conservation Centre and Enchanted Adventure will thrill your kids. Get out of town with these interesting Cowes side-trips: Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park (in Pearcedale) and Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery (in Mornington). There's lots more to do: try for a hole-in-one at A Maze'N Things, get outside with Wildlife Coast Cruises, stop by Tyde, and learn about all things military at National Vietnam Veterans Museum.

To find more things to do, maps, reviews, and more tourist information, use the Cowes road trip site.

Melbourne to Cowes is an approximately 2-hour car ride. You can also do a combination of train and taxi; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect a daytime high around 23°C in April, and nighttime lows around 12°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Fri) early enough to drive back home.
