Monrovia — 3 nights

The capital of Liberia and its most populous city, Monrovia lies on the Atlantic Coast of Cape Mesurado.
Kick off your visit on the 13th (Tue): contemplate the long history of Providence Island, explore the galleries of Liberian National Museum, and then steep yourself in history at Centennial Pavilion. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: take in the spiritual surroundings of Sacred Heart Cathedral, take some stellar pictures from Ducor Hotel, and then shop like a local with Curated Gift Shop Liberia.

Plan my Monrovia trip by asking Inspirock to come up with tips and suggestions.

Tel Aviv, Israel to Monrovia is an approximately 21.5-hour flight. The time zone difference moving from Israel Standard Time (IST) to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is minus 2 hours. While traveling from Tel Aviv, expect much hotter days and a bit warmer nights in Monrovia, ranging from highs of 37°C to lows of 27°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Thu) so you can travel back home.

Founded by freed American and Caribbean slaves, Liberia today has a population of primarily indigenous Africans, but maintains certain links with the United States. One such link comes in the music and wider culture of the main urban areas, where hip-hop influences abound among traditional African rhythms, dress styles, and dance trends. Beaches close to the capital remain some of the main places to visit in Liberia, as exploring the inland areas away from the main towns represents a risk for foreign visitors without an accompanying local guide.
