Penrith — 1 night

Penrith is a market town and civil parish in the county of Cumbria, England. Start off your visit on the 2nd (Thu): take in nature's colorful creations at Rydal Mount & Gardens, then admire the sheer force of Aira Force Waterfall, and then explore the ancient world of Castlerigg Stone Circle. On the 3rd (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: tour the pleasant surroundings at Catbells Lakeland Walk and then contemplate the waterfront views at Derwentwater.

London to Penrith is an approximately 4-hour train ride. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or drive. When traveling from London in June, plan for a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Penrith: temperatures range from 20°C by day to 15°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Fri) so you can go by car to Ravenglass.

Ravenglass is a small coastal village and natural harbour in Cumbria, England roughly halfway between Barrow-in-Furness and Whitehaven. On the 4th (Sat), enjoy the sand and surf at Seascale Beach and then take in nature's colorful creations at Muncaster Castle.
