The architect Vahland had designs to make Bendigo a "Vienna of the south" by encouraging European artisans to immigrate to the city.
Change things up with these side-trips from Bendigo: The Great Aussie Beer Shed (in Echuca), Bridgewater Riverwalk (in Bridgewater on Loddon) and Maryborough Railway Station (in Maryborough).
