Norway's capital city, Oslo boasts a thousand years of history and a diverse mix of architecture that blends old, new, and ultra-modern.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Mathallen Oslo, Aker Brygge and Oslo City. Bring the kids along to Norsk Folkemuseum and Kon-Tiki Museum. When in Oslo, make a side trip to see Gullich in Son, approximately Son away. There's lots more to do: step into the grandiose world of Akershus Castle and Fortress (Akershus Slott og Festning), explore the landscape on two wheels at Bygdøy, see the interesting displays at Holmenkollen Ski Museum, and admire the masterpieces at Munch.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to Oslo is an approximately 12-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and train. Traveling from Riyadh to Oslo, you'll gain 2 hours due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Riyadh in July, things will get colder in Oslo: highs are around 26°C and lows about 11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Lillehammer.

Lillehammer — 3 nights

Lillehammer is a town and municipality in Oppland county, Norway. Your day by day itinerary now includes Hunderfossen Eventyrpark as well as Helgoya Klatrepark. Kick off your visit on the 11th (Sat): steep yourself in history at Sigrid Undset's Home Bjerkebaek. Keep things going the next day: whizz through the canopy at Helgoya Klatrepark and then fly down the slopes at Lillehammer Olympic Bob & LugeTrack.

Getting from Oslo to Lillehammer by car takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: drive; or take a train; or take a bus. When traveling from Oslo in July, plan for a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Lillehammer: temperatures range from 19°C by day to 9°C at night. On the 14th (Tue), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Stryn.
