Darwin — 4 nights

The smallest of Australia’s state capitals, Darwin has nevertheless become an attractive and important urban center, being simultaneously one of the country’s most modernized cities and a gateway to both the Top End region and South East Asia.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Florence Falls and St Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Cathedral. Museum-lovers will appreciate Darwin Military Museum and Defence of Darwin Experience. Step out of Darwin to go to Litchfield National Park and see Wangi Falls, which is approximately 1h 20 min away. Located right in the center of Australia, the national park boasts perhaps the country's most iconic natural symbol and a sacred place for the region's indigenous people--as well as Kata Tjuta, a collection of 36 red rocks forming an equally distinctive sight.
On the 12th (Fri), get your bearings at Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, trek along Kuniya Walk, and then contemplate the waterfront views at Mutitjulu Waterhole. On the next day, explore the striking landscape at Uluru, go for a walk through Mala Walk, and then make a trip to Field of Light.
