Utrecht — 4 nights

As one of the Netherland's largest university towns, Utrecht is bursting with young energy.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Airborne Cemetery and Canals area. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Kasteel Doorwerth and Muiderslot. When in Utrecht, make a side trip to see Koppelpoort in Amersfoort, approximately Amersfoort away. There's still lots to do: test your problem-solving skills at popular escape rooms, pause for some serene contemplation at St. Martin's Cathedral Domkerk, take in nature's colorful creations at Botanic Gardens, and see the interesting displays at Museum Speelklok.

Stockholm, Sweden to Utrecht is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. In June, plan for daily highs up to 24°C, and evening lows to 13°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 5th (Sun) early enough to go by car to Hengelo.

Hengelo — 2 nights

On the 6th (Mon), take in nature's colorful creations at Castle and gardens Twickel and then tee off at Golfclub Driene. On the next day, contemplate the long history of Drogenapstoren and then contemplate the long history of Zaadmarkt Zutphen-Rijksmonument woonhuis Het Bolwerck uit 1549.

Drive from Utrecht to Hengelo in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. In June, daytime highs in Hengelo are 25°C, while nighttime lows are 12°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Tue) so you can drive to Groningen.

Side Trips

Groningen — 3 nights

Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Prinsentuin and Stadhuis Groningen. Change things up with a short trip to Rijksmonument Waterpoort Sneek uit 1613 in Sneek (about 1 hour away).
