Torquay — 14 nights

Set against the stark but scenic coastline of the Bass Strait--the body of water separating Victoria and Tasmania--Torquay is a prime location for surfing and beach life in general.Attractions like The Great Ocean Road and Erskine Falls make great kid-friendly stops. Change things up with these side-trips from Torquay: Split Point Lighthouse (in Aireys Inlet), Werribee (Werribee River Park & Werribee Open Range Zoo) and Moorabool Valley Chocolate By Design (in Batesford). There's still lots to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Bells Beach, hike along Great Ocean Walk, enjoy the sand and surf at Lorne Beach, and make a trip to Teddy's Lookout.
To find maps, more things to do, where to stay, and tourist information, use the Torquay tour itinerary builder tool.
In September, daytime highs in Torquay are 20°C, while nighttime lows are 7°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 21st (Thu) to allow enough time to travel back home.
