Traveling from Perth in November, expect somewhat warmer with lows of 26°C in Port Douglas. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Fri) early enough to travel to Cape Tribulation.

Cape Tribulation — 2 nights

A lush headland that's part of the forested Daintree Region, Cape Tribulation was so named by Lieutenant--later Captain--Cook in 1770, when his ship ran aground in the area.
Kick off your visit on the 5th (Sat): enjoy the sand and surf at Cape Tribulation Beach, stroll through Marrdja Botanical Walk, then relax in the rural setting at Cape Trib Farm, and finally trek along Dubuji Boardwalk. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: browse the exhibits of Daintree Discovery Centre, then experience rural life at Cape Trib Exotic Fruit Farm, and then trot along with a tour on horseback.

You can drive from Port Douglas to Cape Tribulation in 2 hours. In November, plan for daily highs up to 36°C, and evening lows to 26°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Sun) to allow time to drive to Cairns.

Very much a town with an emphasis on the tropical lifestyle, Airlie Beach offers exotic surroundings with palm trees and charming, sandy beaches.
Start off your visit on the 10th (Thu): kick back and relax at Airlie Beach Lagoon and then race across the water with a speed boat tour.

Gold Coast — 3 nights

A city of towering skyscrapers, sandy beaches, and tree-lined streets, Gold Coast has an unpretentious air complemented by a citywide focus on sports and the arts.

Finish up your sightseeing early on the 13th (Sun) so you can go by car to Mooloolaba.
