Krakow — 3 nights

One of Poland's oldest cities, Krakow sits at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains, its historical town center nestled on the left bank of the Vistula River.
Get out of town with these interesting Krakow side-trips: Zamek Królewski (in Suloszowa) and Grota Lokietka (King's Lokietek Cave) (in Ojcow National Park). Known to most by its German name Auschwitz, the modestly sized city of Oswiecim sits at the foot of the Jura Mountains, just 50 km (30 mi) west of Krakow.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Tue): get engrossed in the history at Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau and then stroll around Planty Park.
