Windermere — 14 nights

Windermere is the largest natural lake in England. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Windermere: Lake District Sheepdog Experience (in Crosthwaite), Rydal Mount & Gardens (in Rydal) and Bowness-on-Windermere (The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction & Boat Tours & Water Sports). Spend the 19th (Fri) exploring nature at Lake District National Park Guided Walks. Next up on the itinerary: head outdoors with Outdoor Activities, identify plant and animal life at Brockhole on Windermere, push the limits with an extreme tour, and stroll through Sea to Sea (C2C).
To see more things to do, other places to visit, traveler tips, and tourist information, read our Windermere trip itinerary builder tool.
Bristol to Windermere is an approximately 4.5-hour car ride. You can also take a train; or do a combination of flight and train. Cap off your sightseeing on the 20th (Sat) early enough to go by car back home.
