The place where Cretan and Venetian cultures merged in the 13th century, Chania Town attracts throngs of tourists with its well-preserved medieval harbor.
Venture out of the city with trips to Samaria Gorge National Park (in Sfakia), Balos Lagoon (in Kissamos) and Rethymnon (Historical and Folklore Museum of Rethymno, Rethymnon Old Town, &more). There's much more to do: don't miss a visit to Old Venetian Harbor, get engrossed in the history at Archaeological Museum of Chania, stroll the grounds of Souda Bay War Cemetery, and see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour.

Tel Aviv, Israel to Chania Town is an approximately 5-hour flight. Traveling from Tel Aviv in June, expect little chillier with lows of 22°C in Chania Town. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 7th (Wed) so you can go by car to Elafonissi.

Located just off Crete's southwestern corner, Elafonissi offers an alternative vacation idea for those looking to avoid the larger, more crowded Greek islands.
Start off your visit on the 8th (Thu): see the interesting displays at Museum of platanias, enjoy the sand and surf at Elafonissi Beach, and then stroll through Elafonisi Viewpoint.

You can drive from Chania Town to Elafonissi in 1.5 hours. Another option is to take a bus. June in Elafonissi sees daily highs of 34°C and lows of 22°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 8th (Thu) early enough to travel to Hersonissos.
