Alpine Capital of the World

Situated near the massive peaks of the Aiguilles Rouges and, most notably, the Aiguille du Midi, Chamonix is one of the oldest ski resorts in France and known as the Alpine Capital of the World.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Aiguille du Midi and Lake Annecy. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Chamonix: La Clusaz (Esf la Clusaz, La Clusaz, &more), Station de Ski les Saisies (in Les Saisies) and La Plagne (in La Plagne-Tarentaise). Halifax, Canada to Chamonix is an approximately 22.5-hour combination of flight and car. You can also do a combination of flight and bus. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 5 hours traveling from Halifax to Chamonix. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Wed) to allow time to drive to Zermatt.
