Kailua is a census-designated place (CDP) in Honolulu County, Hawaii, United States. Start off your visit on the 24th (Sat): explore the gorgeous colors at Pele's Chair, take in the dramatic scenery at Maunawili Falls, and then trek along Olomana Three Peaks Trail. On the next day, take a memorable drive along Makapu'u Point, stroll through Pillbox Hike, and then kick back and relax at Kalama Beach Park.

Getting from Lahaina to Hilo by flight takes about 2.5 hours. In July, daytime highs in Hilo are 85°F, while nighttime lows are 71°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Kailua-Kona.
