Zurich — 2 nights

The financial hub of Switzerland, Zurich is most often associated with money and banks.
Escape the urban bustle at Mt Pilatus and Lake Zurich. Get some cultural insight at Old Town and Landesmuseum. Change things up with these side-trips from Zurich: Lucerne (Lake Lucerne & Chapel Bridge). The capital and political center of Switzerland, Bern sits on a peninsula formed by the U-shaped River Aare.
On the 21st (Thu), buy something for everyone on your list at Central Railroad Station, then visit UNESCO-Altstadt von Bern, then take in the spiritual surroundings of The Cathedral of Bern, and finally look for all kinds of wild species at Barenpark.
