Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park and Kealakekua Bay will appeal to history buffs. You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Swim with Dolphins and Pololu Valley Lookout. Get out of town with these interesting Kailua-Kona side-trips: Captain Cook (The Painted Church & Two Step), Honaunau Bay (in Honaunau) and Waikoloa (Anaehoomalu & 49 Black Sand Beach). Next up on the itinerary: enjoy the sand and surf at Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area, stroll through Kahaluu Beach, explore the striking landscape of Lapakahi State Historical Park, and get engrossed in the history at Kona Coffee Living History Farm.
