Long a sleepy fishing settlement on Crete's northern coastline, Elounda today serves as a major travel destination, drawing vacationers with a blend of unspoiled natural scenery and luxury resorts.
Start off your visit on the 27th (Wed): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Panagias Keras Church, contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Voulismeni, then look for gifts at Eklektos Bookshop, and finally step off the mainland to explore Spinalonga (Kalydon). On the 28th (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: delve into the distant past at Malia Palace Archaeological Site, explore the ancient world of Archaia Poli Tis Lato, and then discover the deep blue sea with Ierapetra Diving Centre.
