In north-central Switzerland, Lucerne represents a small city boasting a well-preserved old town.
Take a break from the city and head to Mt Pilatus and Seebad Eich. Museum-lovers will get to explore Landesmuseum and Glacier Garden Lucerne (Gletschergarten). Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Lucerne: Zurich (Museum of Art (Kunsthaus Zurich) & Old Town). As one of the country's oldest ski resorts, Grindewald serves as a prime example of a cozy Swiss ski town.
Take a break from the city and head to Jungfraujoch and Trümmelbachfälle. When in Grindelwald, make a side trip to see Lake Brienz in Brienz, approximately Brienz away.
