Braithwaite — 3 nights

Braithwaite is a village in the northern Lake District, in Cumbria, England. Visiting Derwentwater and Ullswater will get you outdoors. Discover out-of-the-way places like Helvellyn and Keswick Museum. There's lots more to do: take a peaceful walk through Whinlatter Forest, learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at The Lake District Wildlife Park, trek along Central Fells, and identify plant and animal life at Alpacaly Ever After.

Manchester to Braithwaite is an approximately 2.5-hour car ride. In July, plan for daily highs up to 22°C, and evening lows to 17°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 31st (Sat) early enough to travel to Seathwaite.

Seathwaite — 2 nights

On the 1st (Sun), appreciate the views at Little Langdale Valley and then explore the fascinating underground world of Cathedral Quarry (Cathedral Cave). Keep things going the next day: take a memorable drive along Wrynose Pass and then hike along Scafell Pike Mountain.

Windermere — 5 nights

Windermere is the largest natural lake in England. Discover out-of-the-way places like Lake District National Park Guided Walks and Haverigg Beach. Get in touch with nature at Lake Windermere and Old Man of Coniston. Venture out of the city with trips to Lake District Sheepdog Experience (in Crosthwaite) and Rydal Mount & Gardens (in Rydal). There's still lots to do: scramble along the landscape with a canyoning and rapelling tour, explore the activities along Coniston Water, walk around Go Ape Grizedale, and take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Loughrigg Fell.
