Braithwaite is a village in the northern Lake District, in Cumbria, England. Explore hidden gems such as Helvellyn and Ullswater. Step out of the city life by going to Derwentwater and Alpacaly Ever After. The adventure continues: delve into the lush surroundings at Whinlatter Forest, learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at The Lake District Wildlife Park, stroll around Fitz Park, and trek along Catbells Lakeland Walk.

Manchester to Braithwaite is an approximately 2.5-hour car ride. In August, plan for daily highs up to 21°C, and evening lows to 16°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 11th (Wed) early enough to travel to Seathwaite.

Seathwaite — 2 nights

Start off your visit on the 12th (Thu): admire the verdant scenery at Little Langdale Valley and then Head underground at Cathedral Quarry (Cathedral Cave). Keep things going the next day: explore and take pictures at Wrynose Pass and then hike along Scafell Pike Mountain.

Windermere — 5 nights

Windermere is the largest natural lake in England. Step off the beaten path and head to Lake District National Park Guided Walks and Rydal Mount & Gardens. Step out of the city life by going to Lake Windermere and Haverigg Beach. Take a break from Windermere with a short trip to Lake District Sheepdog Experience in Crosthwaite, about 38 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: scramble along the landscape with a canyoning and rapelling tour, appreciate the extensive heritage of Loughrigg Fell, contemplate the waterfront views at Coniston Water, and stroll around Go Ape Grizedale.
