Orlando — 3 nights

For most people, any mention of Orlando immediately conjures up images of sprawling theme parks filled with characters plucked right out of popular animated movies.
Have a day of magic on the 8th (Wed) at Walt Disney World Resort. Have a day of magic on the 5th (Sun) at Magic Kingdom Park. There's more to do: get in on the family fun at Universal Orlando Resort and discover the magic at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Plattsburgh to Orlando is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. Expect warmer temperatures when traveling from Plattsburgh in February; daily highs in Orlando reach 75°F and lows reach 56°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 8th (Wed) early enough to fly to Key Largo.

Key Largo — 2 nights

The northernmost island of the Florida Keys, Key Largo provides stunning scenery, a number of watersports opportunities, and plenty of areas to relax on vacation.
On the 9th (Thu), contemplate the long history of Coral Castle, then immerse yourself in nature at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, and then identify plant and animal life at Capt. Sterling's Everglades Eco-Tours. Keep things going the next day: cast your line with Florida Keys Flats Fishing, then look for all kinds of wild species at Florida Keys Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center, then observe the fascinating underwater world at Island Dolphin Care, and finally see the vivid underwater world at Spiegel Grove.

Traveling by flight from Orlando to Key Largo takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Plan for a bit warmer nights when traveling from Orlando in February since evenings lows in Key Largo dip to 62°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Fri) early enough to take a bus to Everglades National Park.

Everglades National Park — 2 nights

A vast expanse of pristine wetlands, Everglades National Park holds the distinction of being the largest tropical wilderness in the U.S. Overflow from Lake Okeechobee into the Florida Bay formed these wetlands, which are home to manatees, American crocodiles, Florida panthers, and an array of wading birds, land birds, and birds of prey.
Kick off your visit on the 11th (Sat): look for all kinds of wild species at Anhinga Trail, trek along Gumbo Limbo Trail, then contemplate the long history of Nike Missile Site HM-69, and finally look for all kinds of wild species at Mahogany Hammock. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 12th (Sun): stroll through Shark Valley Visitor Center and then explore the activities along Slough Slog.

Getting from Key Largo to Everglades National Park by bus takes about 2.5 hours. Traveling from Key Largo in February, expect somewhat warmer with lows of 68°F in Everglades National Park. Cap off your sightseeing on the 12th (Sun) early enough to catch the flight to Key West.

Key West — 3 nights

Located just 140 km (90 mi) from Cuba, Key West is an island only about 6.4 km (4 mi) long and 1.6 km (1 mi) wide.
Step out of Key West with an excursion to National Key Deer Refuge in Big Pine Key--about 44 minutes away. There's still lots to do: examine the collection at The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, steep yourself in history at Curry Mansion Inn, fly like a bird with a parasailing or paragliding tour, and look for all kinds of wild species at Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory.

You can fly from Everglades National Park to Key West in 2.5 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or take a bus. In February in Key West, expect temperatures between 78°F during the day and 68°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 15th (Wed) to allow time for the car ride back home.
