Daytona Beach — 3 nights

The iconic seaside destination of Daytona Beach once supported sugar mill plantations, but now entertains up to 8 million visitors a year.
Attractions like Ormond Beach and Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory make great kid-friendly stops. Get outdoors at New Smyrna Town Beach and Ormond Scenic Loop & Trail. Take a break from Daytona Beach with a short trip to Dolphin & Whale Watching in New Smyrna Beach, about 30 minutes away. The adventure continues: trek along Lighthouse Point Park, cool off at Daytona Lagoon, kick back and relax at Andy Romano Beachfront Park, and take in nature's colorful creations at Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens.

Albany to Daytona Beach is an approximately 19.5-hour car ride. You can also fly; or drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect a bit warmer temperatures when traveling from Albany in July; daily highs in Daytona Beach reach 91°F and lows reach 74°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Thu) early enough to drive to Miami.

Florida’s mecca of fun in the sun, the lively tropical metropolis of Miami is one of the world’s top vacation spots.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park and Las Olas Beach. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Haulover Beach Park and Fort Lauderdale Beach Park. Explore Miami's surroundings by going to Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park (in Dania Beach) and Bal Harbor Beach (in Bal Harbour). There's lots more to do: browse the different shops at Bayside Marketplace, zoom along the surf with a waterskiing or jet-skiing adventure, and enjoy the sand and surf at Surfside Beach.

You can drive from Daytona Beach to Miami in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and flight; or take a bus. July in Miami sees daily highs of 91°F and lows of 78°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Sun) to allow enough time to drive to Fort Myers.
