Zurich — 3 nights

The financial hub of Switzerland, Zurich is most often associated with money and banks.
Visiting Mt Pilatus and Lake Zurich will get you outdoors. Bring the kids along to Confiserie Sprungli and Niederdorf. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Zurich: Lucerne (Altstadt Luzern, Chapel Bridge, &more). There's much more to do: wander the streets of Old Town, browse the different shops at Hauptbahnhof, and shop like a local with Bahnhofstrasse.

Traveling from Abu Dhabi in June, expect Zurich to be cooler, temps between 27°C and 15°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Basel.

Side Trip

Basel — 1 night

Situated where the Swiss, German, and French borders meet, Basel is considered the hub of Dreilandereck, this "three countries corner." Its location makes Basel a center of culture and history, brimming with important theaters and museums.
Start off your visit on the 5th (Sun): explore the world behind art at Fondation Beyeler, then test your team's savvy at popular escape rooms, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Offene Kirche Elisabethen, and finally stop by Basel's Old Town.

Drive from Zurich to Basel in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 28°C in June, and nighttime lows around 15°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Sun) to allow time to drive to Bern.

Bern — 2 nights

The capital and political center of Switzerland, Bern sits on a peninsula formed by the U-shaped River Aare.
On the 6th (Mon), admire the sheer force of Staubbach Waterfall, appreciate the views at Lauterbrunnen Valley Waterfalls, and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Lauterbrunnen Village. On your second day here, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at The Cathedral of Bern, then take a stroll through UNESCO-Altstadt von Bern, and then make a trip to Federal Building (Bundeshaus).

Traveling by car from Basel to Bern takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. In June, plan for daily highs up to 28°C, and evening lows to 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Tue) to allow time to take a train to Zermatt.

Zermatt — 3 nights

Best known as home the Matterhorn mountain, Zermatt serves as a chic ski resort town of the Swiss Alps.
Start off your visit on the 8th (Wed): take in panoramic vistas at Gornergrat, then stop by Laderach, then explore the different monuments and memorials at Mountaineers' Cemetery, and finally see the interesting displays at Matterhorn Museum - Zermatlantis. On your second day here, pause for some serene contemplation at Intercontinental Church Society, then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at The Matterhorn, then take in the dramatic natural features at Gorner Gorge, and finally enjoy breathtaking views from Sunnegga.

Getting from Bern to Zermatt by train takes about 3 hours. Other options: drive. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
