Heraklion, Crete — 1 night

Crete's largest city, Heraklion remains best known for its proximity to a sprawling Bronze Age archaeological site, once the center of a vanished Minoan civilization.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Sun): pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Saint Titus, then learn more about the world around you at The Natural History Museum of Crete, then get engrossed in the history at Heraklion Archaeological Museum, and finally explore the ancient world of The Palace of Knossos.

Getting from Athens to Heraklion by flight takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of taxi and ferry; or ride a ferry. Expect a daytime high around 24°C in November, and nighttime lows around 17°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Sun) to allow time to ride a ferry to Fira.

Fira, Santorini — 3 nights

Fira, the busy capital of Santorini, sits on the very edge of a volcanic caldera.
On the 7th (Mon), explore the ancient world of Akrotiri, then see the world from above with a helicopter tour, and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Ekklisia Panagia Platsani. Keep things going the next day: delve into the distant past at Ancient Thera, then relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Ekklisia Theoskepasti hiking trail.
