Create an itinerary including OBA Library of Amsterdam
The largest of the capital city's public libraries, OBA Library of Amsterdam offers several floors of books and exhibits to explore. Though it may seem mundane to visit a library, the beautiful architecture, cafe, and other features available to the public make this one particularly noteworthy. View the two radio stations housed in this building, as well as the library's youth department, which boasts the famous Muizenhuis, a handmade dollhouse for mice built by artist Karina Schaapman. The impressive building was designed by Jo Coenen and houses nearly 2 million books. It frequently features visiting exhibits on art, literature, or design. • its pretty noisy here. I wouldn't reccommend studying here. the best floor u could be at is the 3rd floor. 4th floor is too noisy due to the people upstairs who are super loud!

  • Take elevator to the sixth floor and access cafe and overlook of the city. Childrens Library is very well designed.

  • I love the place and the staff, but it's pretty rowdy and full of ill-mannered teenagers who do not care about their trash or noise and do not respect the fact that it is a library dedicated to learning. Maybe it will be better if the organization can offer a soundproof area catered to those willing to pay extra on top of the yearly membership. I love the place and the book selection, and almost everything it offers, but the lack of mindfulness and discipline among the visitors ruined the pleasant experience. I get that it should be given freely to those who do not have the means to have a private space for studying, but stricter house rules should be implemented.
  • Very nice and big library. That have free wifi, place for coworkers, nice viewpoint on the 7 floor and restaurant. You need nothing to get in, it’s open for everyone.
