Maeklong Railway Market (Talad Rom Hub)
Absorb the sights and smells of Maeklong Railway Market (Talad Rom Hub), one of the largest fresh seafood markets in Thailand. The railway runs right through the center of the market, and vendors must pull back their awnings and wares every time a train goes past--six times a day--at surprisingly high speeds. Experience some delicious street food or enjoy a Thai iced coffee. Make Maeklong Railway Market (Talad Rom Hub) a centerpiece of your Mae Klong vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Mae Klong online holiday planner.

Another unique thing to see outside of Bangkok. It's about an hour and 1/2 by car. The advice I have here is to walk down the tracks until you get to one of the coffee shops where you can sit and enjoy a nice cool drink while you wait for the train to come and pass you. These coffee shops will instruct you to stand up on the stools so you can get a really great view right up on the tracks. You'll be immersed in the sights and smells of the wet market as you walk down the tracks. It's a very interesting sight to see how they quickly pull everything in when the train comes. There are some shops selling some different types of clothing items and hand bags. There's lots of food along the road headed to the tracks. Overall this was a nice add-on because it's relatively close to the floating markets, therefore if you're in the area it's worth a quick visit.

When you come to Bangkok, one of the special attractions is the Railway Market. When you come to the railway market, only a few trains pass through the center of the market every day. This miraculous phenomenon, in our view, is extremely thrilling. But it is common for the locals, and there are some cafes on both sides of the train road where you can sit and watch the whole process, so it is worth visiting.
