Witness the delicately modeled beauty of the world's largest gold seated Buddha at Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Traimit). Many of Asia's golden statues were once covered in plaster and stucco to disguise them from invading armies during times of conflict. The discovery of this magnificent golden Buddha was accidental: a team of people moving the object dropped it, its plaster casing cracked, and the golden figure shone out after many years in hiding. Visit the established Bangkok temple complex to admire the Buddha's clear, crisp form and learn of its fascinating origins. Work out when and for how long to visit Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Traimit) and other Bangkok attractions using our handy Bangkok trip planner.

I have been here for few times and just joined my friend's ordination today. The staff around the area is very helpful and attentive. Many parking lot inside the temple. Clean and have a good practice during covid19. But we noticed some tourist visited without wearing the mask. We hope those tourists should follow the sign and guidance.

It is an extremely beautiful temple that is not talked about enough. Usually much less tourists and has lots of food around that is not over priced. It was nice to walk around and look. Many great photo opportunities and people watching!
