Create an itinerary including Reichenbach Waterfall
Best known as the site of Sherlock Holmes and Professor Moriarty's final clash, Reichenbach Waterfall attracts fans of the Sherlock fiction series from all over the world. However, with a combined drop of 250 m (820 ft) and picturesque alpine setting, this spectacular series of waterfalls has a broad appeal. A scenic funicular ride makes the site easy to access, located just a short walk from the Reichenbachfall station. At their fullest, the waterfalls can produce a considerable spray, so be sure to wear shoes with good grip and bring a waterproof jacket. • Gorgeous! If you’re up for a sort of challenging hike (some very steep part and one section with a fairly risky drop to one side), the views are worth it and the hike itself is pretty and almost...

  • Great funicular railway and some good treks up top. Make sure you go to the left hand side of the falls to the ledge where Sherlock and Moriarty fall.

  • A great hike. If you are from Scotland you would normally expect small mosquitos when you go on a hike in a place like this but there is absolutely no such thing here. Very pleasant. Make sure you get the right footwear and cloths. Be prepared for moments of rain followed by strong sun.
  • Beautiful place for Sherlock Holmes fans and others. The funicular was also a fun adventure. The falls themselves are breathtaking and the footpath to the final meeting of SH & prof Moriarty quite challenging towards the end but worth it!
