Create an itinerary including Skansen
Experience centuries of Swedish history through architecture, reconstructed farms, and live reenactments at Skansen, one of the world's first open-air museums. The property, established in 1891, boasts 150 houses and other buildings that have been moved from different parts of the country to this site as examples of regional style. Here Scandinavian traditions are upheld through craft making and Swedish celebrations. Take in views of Stockholm from this vantage point--kids will especially like the Stockholm zoo and children's zoo. After exploring the museum and watching living history actors in period dress, stop into the museum shop to purchase national specialties and handicrafts. • Great place to visit and have a wonderful walk. Great piece of history. Very friendly stuff willing to answer your questions and tell interesting stories. Wonderful place for younger and older kids as well as adults. Many animals to watch. Some places to eat and rest. I wish there was not enough parking space..
  • Wonderful place for all day trip with kids. Our boys 7 and 11 had great fun watching animals touching snakes, spiders, lambs but also playing on numerous playgrounds and exploring tunnels under rabbits place. When tired you can stop for some foods and drinks inside Skansen area. Unfortunately you need to buy a separate ticket for Skansen Aquarium if you want to see it.
