Playa Gandia
Stretching along the sunny coast of Gandia, Playa Gandia is consistently ranked among the best beaches in all of Spain. Thanks to its position between mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, Gandia experiences few days of rain during the year, making its beach a fantastic place for vacationers during the off-season. Dotted with restaurants, bars, and hotels, the beach stretches from the port in the center of town for nearly 4 miles (6km) toward the neighbouring town of Xeraco. Towards the northern end where the bars and hotels diminish is a naturist area, delineated by a sign. Come nightfall, take advantage of Gandia's legendary nightlife at one of its many discotheques, or simply soak in the beach life atmosphere in one of the many bars that face the sea. Nice walking areas. Very clean. Noticed what appeared to be a strong custom of people bringing their own deck chairs to the beach!

Nice beach but I cannot put 5 stars as that cannot compare to Ibiza beaches. Still, Gandía beach is very wide and extremely long, walking from Gandía to Xeraco will take you about 2 hours. The water is cleaner in the morning and you can touch the sea floor up to about 100m away from the beach. Just be careful as you can spot small to very large jelly fishes left on the sand every 200-300m or so. In June the weather is pleasantly hot and the water warm too but can still refresh you. On weekends the beach gets fairly busy but it cannot compare to July and August when you can barely lay down your towel and walk the pedestrian street. September is also another pleasant time to enjoy the beach. Restaurants around get busy so you better book. Valencia region is famous for paella and arroz meloso. Twice we choose the arroz meloso with a small lobster (bogavante) but the stock is typically too fishy so overpower the delicate taste of lobster (better eaten on its own and cooked simply). There are chiringuitos (beach bar) every 200m that are nice to relax with cocktails. Enjoy.
