The Marquis of Cerralbo loved to collect items from the many museums he visited across Europe in the late 19th century and early 20th century, and today his Museo Cerralbo is home to some 50,000 objects. Inside the Marquis' former palace, view paintings, sculptures, ceramics, glass, tapestries, furniture, antique coins, drawings, engravings, clocks, arms, armor, and artifacts. The museum offers a few options for guided visits: an audio guide, a professional guide, or a volunteer cultural guide. The latter is available on a limited schedule, so check to see if volunteers are offering their service during your visit. Plan your visit to Museo Cerralbo and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Madrid trip itinerary website.

This is a small home museum filled with wonderful things. If you like to see 19th century decorated homes of the times, this is good to see. It is like a small palace.

What an amazing museum! The way the house has been preserved gives a unique opportunity to get a window into the past and see up close one of the most incredible art collections in Spain. It can be overwhelming with the vast amount of pieces there are. Sculptures, paintings, vases, tapestries, furniture and everything else in between. This is definitely a MUST do when you are in Madrid.

You have to visit it if you want to see how was to live in 19th century. Worth it.
