Create an itinerary including Denia Castle and Archaeological Museum
Denia Castle and Archaeological Museum educates about the development of the Denia from the 2nd century BCE up to the 18th century and provides commanding views over city and the sea. The castle itself retains a number of notable features, including two guard towers, one made of red sandstone and dating to the 15th century, and the other going back to Muslim rule during the 12th century. The Portal de la Vila entrance gate finely exemplifies the Almohade style. Inside the museum, view displays of excavated artifacts and explore the grounds and excavation site of the Renaissance-era castle. • We enjoyed walking around the castle and the views from the top back down to the Port and also out over the town are spectacular. A must do in Denia.

  • Part of the castle tour. Very small museum with a very small selection of items from the days of old. Not very impressive...
  • At the base of the east tower of the castle of Denia, it has 4 conditioned rooms corresponding to the Iberian, Muslim, Roman and Christian periods. Entry included in the castle visit ticket. It does not have access for the disabled or baby strollers.
