The statue marks the location where, in 1962, the police captured Mandela, who managed to evade arrest for 17 months. • If you’re a fan of architecture and sculptures, you won’t be bored here. While South Africa’s chequered history can be heavy to absorb, Apartheid is a story that must be told. Similar to the Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg, you’ll obtain important historical facts from this visit. The sculpture provides a perfect end to this visit. There a cute eateries nearby where you can grab a bite to eat, if you don’t want to picnic on the grounds.
  • Very informative and educational exhibit at the museum. Walking through the entrance of the museum will give you goosebumps and nostalgia of what actually have taken place in Nelson Mandela’s time. Very well-kept place surrounded by amazing scenery.
