Experience Fort Canning Park, one of Singapore's most popular landmarks and green spaces. Excavations of this park have revealed that it may have been the center of trade as far back as the 1400s. Malay kings ruled from the top of this hill, and it remained a centerpiece of the island during its 19th-century transformation into a major trade hub, plus it was a military base during World War II. Today visitors can view old relics of the island's past, set up a picnic, or attend a concert or special event. Make Fort Canning Park a centerpiece of your Singapore vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Singapore driving holiday website.

Being a person who likes history, this was a must to learn about the past. It is a great place to simply walk or take a run through. Som good viewing up there as well.

This park is truly amazing. I think I could spend several more days here just trying to see all of the unique features and exhibits. The trails were well marked and ideal for a good workout. The revised Spice Garden is a wonderful addition. Be sure to check out the park at dusk or dawn as it has a unique charm at both times of day.

Fort Canning Park is very nice and restful, the recreation area is well maintained and full of pretty flowers. There are a lot of things to explore, especially with children. You can visit a lighthouse, the Spice Garden, Fort Canning Heritage Gallery, with a little bit of luck you will see rooster, squirrel and fancy butterfly.

Situated in the central area of Singapore, Fort Canning Park is a landmark that showcases flora and fauna, as well as historical artefacts. Set on a hilltop, Fort Canning Park is a respite from the surrounding urban landscape. The iconic 18ha park is steeped in history: Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore, built a bungalow on Fort Canning Hill, and it became the home of subsequent colonial governors. Fort Canning Hill was a major communication centre, and key historic events took place here. Fort Gate, the remnant of a 19th-century fortress, can also be found in the park.
