Create an itinerary including Peles Castle
Explore the rich interiors of Peles Castle, furnished with Murano crystal chandeliers, stained-glass windows, gold and silver plates, and ebony and ivory sculptures. This 19th-century royal castle, named after the neighboring brooks, was built of wood, bricks, stone, and marble. It features over 160 rooms with lots of wood carvings. Some walls here are covered with Cordoba leather, and the armory rooms house a robust weapon collection. Visit the reception room to see paintings and wooden sculptures depicting the castles of the Hohenzollerns. The seven terraces surrounding the castle are decorated with Italian statues, fountains, and ornamental vases. Nearby attractions include guards' chambers, a hunting house, royal stables, and a power plant. • outside if very beautiful. But don't be in illusion, the castle is quite modern, about a 100 years, Indeed, perhaps, this is the best one can in Romania. But the entrance fee is 150 Ron (~30 Euro...

  • We did a tour of several castles and fortified churches in Transylvania and by far this was the best overall. We visited in May and so everything was green and we went during the middle of the week...

  • Wow, just wow i thought this place although not that old was truly a beautiful castle so fit for royalty! Everything still in place left exactly how it always was. Very regal and ornate. You pay a small fee to be able to take photos inside. Worth it to be able to share. Plenty of breathtakingly beautiful views outside to be had and Plenty of food and drink nearby. Amazing cant wait to go back and see it all again.
  • Worth visiting. Probably the nicest place in the whole Romania. Every single part of this palace is an art that took years to create. It is very good that everything survived, was not ruined and we can observe. The basic entrance fee is 40 lei, and for the double price you could allow to visit more rooms. I recommend to take a guide and to listen the story of the king's family
