Wieliczka Salt Mine

A short drive southeast of Krakow, this mine, included on the World Heritage List, produced table salt continuously for over seven centuries. Operation finally shut down in 2007. Today you can see dozens of statues, chapels, and cathedrals exquisitely hand carved by generations of miners. Very intresting trip. Well organized. Maybe a bit to long for small children. Mamy stairs, but only going down :) intresting tales of the guide. Many languages offered.

Today my father and I went there (04-09-2019) and we enjoyed our visit. It's a wonderful place. The church is absolutely amazing and the lake itself is beautiful as well. We just loved it! It's probably one of the best attractions in Poland 🇵🇱. We're the visitors from Dublin, Ireland 🇮🇪

Overall great experience here. I took the English tour and it was very enjoyable. It is a very high traffic attraction so keep that in mind. It took about two hours to do our tour of the mine. You only get to see a fraction of this beautiful place, but nonetheless it is worth while going. I highly recommend getting a tour while in Krakow!!!
