  • This mosque is much less crowded with mainstream tourists than the one in Abu Dhabi. Also magnificent in size, design, style, and atmosphere, it is worth visiting with a guide, who can explain...

  • Stunning architecture on a massive scale, the Grand Mosque is a beautiful tourist attraction. Only open to visitors in the mornings and not open to visitors on Fridays. Modest clothing required - head scarf and clothes that cover all the skin for women. My knee-length skirt was not long enough so I was asked to buy a traditional outfit from the gift shop, this was about 5 rials and a good buy. The buildings and art were stunning and the main room has a collection of massive chandeliers hanging over a huge carpet. Attendants within the mosque were friendly and knowledgeable. The surrounding gardens were beautifully designed and looked after.
  • This is one of the most popular and gorgeous mosques I had ever seen. When you enter, there is a huge garden that is full of flowers and rows of trees, in front of you and there is a water channel with a fountain in this garden. There is a monolithic carpet inside which was woven by Iranians. There is a huge chandelier in the mosque that is amazing. Women must be covered for entering the mosque and men should wear pants. The time for visiting is from 8 to 11 p.m.
