Discover one of the most significant private collections of post-war and contemporary art in Northern Europe at Astrup Fearnley Museet. The permanent collection, once dominated by paintings and sculptures by American and European artists, now features art from India, Japan, China, and Brazil as well. The museum's three pavilions sit against the waterfront backdrop in a neighborhood that used to house docks and shipyards. Notice how the maritime theme is reflected in a sail-shaped glass roof and mast-like steel columns. The museum also features strange works, like a cow split in half and submerged in formaldehyde by controversial British artist Damian Hurst. The building is really cool, what's inside less so IMO. I'm not a great aficionado of modern art but there wasn't anything that really wowed me. I guess the most recognisable pieces were Damien Hurst's bisected animals but it wasn't my cup of tea. The layout is minimalist with only 12% of the collection on display at any one time. Maybe I was just unlucky.

Had a great experience. Being an art lover this a must do thing which is always in my list. Various types of art, its a wow and really appreciable work, so so creative. Love the 3D painting, charcoal work, painting which looked like a cloth material, then loved the lockers work, and MJ, the animal room, there are so many work. The sounds coming from dresses. Then there was previous personality person DNA list with there Marks. I mean it's first time i have seen this. Overall i had great experience. 👏👏
