Trolltunga, Odda

Concealed deep within a fjord sits Trolltunga, a scenic cliff and one of Norway's most notable hiking destinations. The slender rocky plateau juts out about 1,100 m (3,610 ft) above sea level, hovering above the lake below. The full hike takes up to ten hours and traverses steep mountain ridges. The route takes you past waterfalls, glacial potholes, lush vegetation, and a dam. You can prolong your stay by bringing a tent to camp, but be aware that the weather can change quickly. Wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring extra clothing, a map, a compass, and plenty of food and water. Cell phone service is not available along the route.
