Wandering through the wild Aurlandsdal is pure magic. There are no roads at the bottom of the Aurlandsdalen Valley, making it the most beautiful and wildest hiking trail in western Norway. Taking a trip from Østerbø to Vassbygdi through the Nesbøgalden rock arcade brings great enjoyment. Countless waterfalls, stunning rocks formations, mountains, old farms - all this is simply wonderful. Not for nothing, this trail is called the Grand Canyon of Norway and it is ranked among the TOP 5 hikes throughout Norway in many guides. For me personally, this is the most beautiful tour we have taken in Norway and I would recommend it to all who head to Norway. Unlike other well-established and famous destinations in Norway, you will meet a few tourists and really enjoy nature here. Moreover, if you go in the direction of Østerbø to Vassbygdi, you will actually go down all the way. But there are fools who are taking it upside down, and they even run it. :-) If you are not feeling like that you can return by bus. This is a must for every hiking enthusiast.
