Create an itinerary including Bryggen
Explore the shops, galleries, pubs, restaurants, and museums dispersed within the medieval wooden buildings of Bryggen, designated a World Heritage Site in 1979. The site dates back to before 1070, and developed into an important Norwegian trading center with an office of the Hanseatic League opened here in 1360. Today the town is one of the most visited attractions in Norway. Wander the ancient alleys, sit and people-watch along the waterfront, and admire the Nordic houses. Stop by the Hanseatic trade building built in 1702, the Maria Church, the Bryggen Museum, the Hanseatic Museum, or Schotstuene assembly rooms on your way around town. Make Bryggen a part of your Bergen vacation plans using our Bergen day trip website.

  • Stunning place, we have had the most amazing weather. Such a beautiful place. Floibannen is a great experience and the view from the top is stunning.
  • It’s the most visited area of the city. The small alleys contain various souvenir shops. There are two of the houses that are under repair until 2025. The story behind this area is interesting.
