Create an itinerary including Kathmandu Durbar Square
Take a walk through Kathmandu Durbar Square, a social and spiritual center of town. Badly damaged during the devastating earthquake in 2015--which completely destroyed five temples--the sites here have been sensitively restored and stand in testament to the Nepalese spirit and community. Stroll between the numerous landmarks, admiring the Buddhist and Hindu temples and their idiosyncratic, yet somehow charmingly united and complementary architecture and artworks. With our custom trip planner, Patan (Lalitpur) attractions like Kathmandu Durbar Square can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Gorgeous, peaceful and breathtaking. It still amazes me that the historical craftsman managed to create such a masterpiece without so called modern engineering degree. It survived countless earthquakes and still looks like day 1. Impressive!!
  • A place of wonder and tremendous beauty. Stop in the museum for a cup of tea and soak in the sights and sounds of the place. Don't be surprised if you are lulled into a trance like state as the sounds of distant bells and the smell of burning incense sooth your mind and relax your soul. Be at peace and go with goodwill.
