Inside a 400-year-old stone vaulted cellar, Trabuxu Wine Bar has been serving wine and cheese lovers for over a decade--it remains Valletta's premier wine venue. It's also a local landmark, offering a cozy and intimate setting in the winter, and a boisterous vibe in the summer. A popular post-theater and concert hub, the bar draws an eclectic crowd looking for a place to enjoy lively conversations and vibrant energy. Serious wine/cheese fans will love the menu--the highly trained staff will work hard to demystify the experience for total beginners. All cheeses on the menu are hand selected and brought in from reputable suppliers--they can be purchased by the gram. Try the all-inclusive cheese board, which features 50 grams of each cheese on the menu. You'll also find a great selection of cured meats and salami, and the in-house chicken liver parfait and terrine are not to be missed. Reserve in advance, especially if you plan to visit on Friday or Saturday. The bar is also available for private functions--contact winebar@trabuxu.com.mt for more info. Lovely wine bar. We went on a Friday evening before 7pm. The inside was fully booked but outside was quiet. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a cheese platter and some local wine. Both were delicious. The local goat cheese pickles in vinegar was an acquired taste but the rest was beautiful. The local wine had a fruitiness that we enjoyed with our cheese. The cheese platter with 6 cheeses was plenty for both of us. My partner also had the chicken liver parfait that he says was delicious and a very generous portion.

I was recommended Trabuxu by my maltese nephew and managed to book with only 2hours notice. We were warmly welcomed by Sasha who showed us to our table. We opted for the 12 cheese platter and a bottle of red wine (the wine list is fabulous). Sasha explained passionately about each individual cheese. A beautiful chutney accompanied our meal along with gorgeous local honey and a basket of fresh bread. The food was 10/10 the ambiance also 1010 and the passion shown by Sasha 10/10. Overall a fantastic experience and I will return asap. Thank you
