For a quiet stroll through the medieval streets and impressive views of the island, head to Mdina Old City. The old capital of Malta, this town of 300 residents is surrounded by historic walls and coined the "Silent City" due to the prohibition of cars in the area. Its narrow streets support to an array of buildings that feature Norman Baroque architecture, including the palaces of Maltese noble families. Be sure to visit the imposing Cathedral of the Conversion of St. Paul and explore its square. • Beautiful stroll in the city. Cannot miss this fortified city and beautiful architecture. Feels like we are in a time machine back in 15th century

  • What a beautiful place of living history! Wandering through the narrow streets of the silent city is just relaxing, just try to visit outside the main bus trip times of the day. Definitely get the ticket for the cathedral and museum! They're worth it and even during crowded times you will have some silent and calm times here.
  • It’s hard to even describe how incredible and unique an experience this was! We got there early, around 9am, on a gorgeous day. It was incredibly quiet, and beautifully kept. This is a city stuck in time, and the serenity of the experience was awe-inspiring. I so wish we could have had dinner at one of the beautiful little restaurants there, but even still, this was the best experience I had on Malta, and it was completely free.
