Villa Comunale is one of the main sites in a town that has been a popular tourist destination since the 19th century. A haven of tranquility far from the maelstrom of boisterous tourists, the park offers not only panoramic views of the city and the curving coastline, but also unbeatable vistas of Mount Etna. The park is crisscrossed by paved pathways, which are shaded by centenarian trees and lined with lush flower beds. Mimosa and orange trees sway gently over lifelike sculptures, which recline on stone benches and seem to enjoy the park’s views just as much as the real visitors do. Designed in the style of a typical English garden, the park was created in the 19th century by Lady Florence Trevelyan, an English noblewoman who married a local military commander. A beautiful garden which was built by an Englishwoman with a great mix of facilities. It has some lovely terraces with lovely views over the sea and Taormina together with Mount Etna in the distance. It also has a series of follies, some aviaries (2 parrots was all we spotted la children's playground and some outdoor exercise areas. There are plenty of benches and at the far end some stones that look good for a picnic. Some of the buildings were fenced off and there are no toilets within the park. We went in late May about 11.00 and it was quite quiet.

This is a very lovely place in the higher of Taormina, you can have a panoramic view from this beautiful garden to the Mediterranean. Or you can just sit and enjoy the greener around. Very beautiful, I really recommend especially in the afternoons (when peace are having a nap and the sun is hot) enjoy!
