Ancient Theatre of Taormina, Taormina

Probably one of the most breathtaking amphitheaters in the whole world. The view of the Sicilian coast is gorgeous beyond belief and the charm of the ancient Greco-Roman amphitheater is inspiring and nostalgic. What a fantastic place to enjoy a modern-day performance if given the opportunity. Give yourself time to walk up the hill to the top, and make sure to walk all around the area, there are steps around the back as well as in the theater itself. Remnants of history are literally everywhere, beckoning you to imagine the grandeur of the past performances enjoyed by first the Greeks, and then the Romans. It's no wonder the theater has been used by 2 great empires and is still in use today, the location being so perfect and special.

Amazing, beautiful, just pure in awe when we visited here today. The architecture and the way the structure has stood the test of roughly 2300 yrs is just mind boggling!! Amazing views of the ocean and Taormina landscapes!! Highly recommended if your even slightly into history!! I couldn't stop saying "Wow, this is beautiful, this is amazing!! I'm from the USA and you can literally barely find anything architecturally stunning like this in the States!! 🤘👍👍👍
