A historic footpath along Capri's coast, Via Krupp is an architectural feat with a nefarious purpose. Officially, German industrialist Friedrich Alfred Krupp said it was built to provide a direct connection between his luxury hotel and his marine biology research vehicle on the water. Later, people discovered that the path actually led to the Grotta di Fra Felice, where the Krupp held wild parties. Krupp was asked to leave Italy in 1902. While the path is now a tourist attraction, it is often closed because of rocks falling from the cliffs. Check the conditions before coming. What an amazing site. Built from a hotel at the top of the island to gain access to the beach. Unfortunately, the road is closed now due to a rock fall a few years ago.
