St. Mary's Church of Ireland
St Mary's (Church of Ireland) Killarney, is a beautiful church—in the heart of Killarney (on Kenmare Place opposite the Town Hall)—which serves a small congregation as well as tourists. It couldn't be easier to arrange your visit to St. Mary's Church of Ireland and many more Killarney attractions: make an itinerary online using Inspirock's Killarney trip planner.
The stained glass windows attract both tourists and local people because of their vibrant colours and style. Most of them were made in the same studio in the North of England in the 1870-80s and form a set. There are some unusual features which the Saturday morning tour of windows help highlight for the visitor (11am and 12 noon during the tourism season). One notable feature is a window depicting a replica of the famous painting by Holman Hunt "The Light of the World".
At present the people of St Mary's are exploring ways in which to communicate aspects of faith through music, the arts, and of course, the windows. Concerts form a major activity of St Mary's Church during the summer months; they normally begin at 8pm. Most of the concerts are free. The Church raises donation through a retiring collection after each concert, to support its Restoration Appeal. Concerts in include classical orchestras, choirs, ensembles. Choirs come on tours of Ireland and book to perform at St Mary's for visitor and local alike.
There is a service each Sunday at 11am. on the first Sunday of the month it is a family Service. Otherwise it is usually Holy Communion. During the season (May-Sep) there is also a short Holy Communion service for visitors who've booked to go on a "Ring of Kerry" coach tour at 10:30am.. Check the notice board for details.

I don't really like 'overloaded' churches and this one is very much full of different colours, patterns, etc. Feels like whoever architected the interior did not really aim for something that fits & feels right together and is helping people to calm down their thoughts to start looking inside.

I visited here during one of the Summer concerts. Beautiful little church with a blend of architectural styles, and amazing organ. It gives a great venue for music, and is right next to the town centre. I was surprised I had not visited here before, but it is worth dropping by.
