Create an itinerary including Ladies' View
Few places in Ireland have been photographed as often as Ladies' View, a spot that offers unspoiled views of the famous Lakes of Killarney. The scenic point's name stems from a visit of Queen Victoria's ladies-in-waiting, who came here in 1861 and afterward told everyone they met of the deep impression the landscape of sky, water, and mountains had left on them. This is one of Ireland's best-known panoramas, but there is a bit more to this place than just one vista. The lookout also contains a modern cafe and a well-stocked gift shop, selling rugs, throws, scarves, and sheepskins. Try to time your visit for mid-morning or mid-afternoon, when the landscape is most conducive to photos. A visit to Ladies' View represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Killarney online holiday planner to plot your vacation.

  • Beautiful view along the Ring of Kerry! Note that there are 3 parking lots. The center one has the easiest access to the main view people talk about, but the upper lot also has a great view. However, if you park at the lower parking lot with no view, if you take a short walk along the road you'll find an unnamed castle that is just gorgeous! (See the pic) If I'm honest, I was even more excited about the castle than the view. :)
  • It's no wonder the Queen was impressed with this view . It's about 14km from Killarney , very good road up but lots of sharp turns. The views over the mountains with the lake in the distance is impressive and to add to the occasion a few deer joined us There is a restaurant with sufficient parking where we enjoyed some coffee. The restaurant has an upper deck which is open and gives even better views. Also has a little gift shop on site
