Kenmare Golf Club, Kenmare

Lovely course on the edge of Kenmare. A short enough circuit at times over some parkland then opens up to waterside fairways but it needs an intelligent choice of shots from the big tees to keep you in play. Greens were prepared for a big event following our trip so they were immaculate, rolling true but a tad fast for my skillset....they will sort out those bandits in your group! Wonderful welcome from John in the Pro Shop, he set us up and off we went. ...then a lovely post round beverage in the stunning clubhouse that sits above the course with a view out to the bay. I'm heading back this week to use my newfound knowledge of the course and aim yo get a few birdies to drop this time and have a good hot meal in the lounge. On the calendar for next year too.

Played kenmare open singles, last time I played it was roughly 5 years ago ,with a hangover that would knock a rhino...today was a sober experience, the newly rebuilt clubhouse is a great addition to the club , not the longest of courses ,but we'll maintained and some of the nicest greens that roll true and fast , well worth a visit, lovely layout 👌👍⛳️
